Accessibility Statement

We want every patient to be able to use our website comfortably, regardless of ability, device, or how they browse the web.

Our Commitment

At Promenade Center for Dentistry, we want our website to be easy to use for every visitor, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice recognition software, or other assistive technology. Accessibility matters to us because getting dental care, scheduling an appointment, or finding answers to a question about your benefits should never be harder than it needs to be.

We review our site on an ongoing basis and make updates as we find ways to improve it. Accessibility is not a one-time project for us - it is something we keep working on as our site grows and as tools and standards change.

The Standard We Follow

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This is the standard most commonly used by businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies to measure how usable a website is for people with a range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive conditions. Meeting this standard is a goal we work toward across every page of our site, not just the ones patients visit most often.

Steps We Have Taken

Making a website accessible involves a number of smaller decisions that add up to a better experience. Here is what we have done so far:

  • Semantic markup: We structure our pages with proper headings, lists, and landmarks so that screen readers and other assistive tools can interpret the content correctly and move through it in a logical order.
  • Keyboard navigation: Menus, links, and buttons on our site are built to be reachable and usable with a keyboard alone, for visitors who do not navigate with a mouse or touchscreen.
  • Color contrast: We choose text and background color combinations with sufficient contrast so that our content stays readable for visitors with low vision or color blindness.
  • Descriptive alt text: Images on our site include written descriptions so that visitors using screen readers understand what each image shows, even if they cannot see it.
  • Clear, readable text: We write in plain language and avoid unnecessary jargon so our pages are easier to understand for all patients, including those with cognitive or learning disabilities.

Known Limitations

We want to be honest about where our site still falls short. Some older content, third-party tools, or embedded features (such as insurance verification widgets or online scheduling plug-ins) may not fully meet every accessibility guideline yet, since they are built and maintained by outside vendors. If you run into a page or feature that is difficult to use, we would genuinely like to know about it so we can look into a fix or offer another way to get what you need.

Reporting a Problem or Getting Help

If any part of our website is hard to use with your screen reader, keyboard, or other assistive technology, please let us know. Tell us which page you were on and what happened, so we can look into it as quickly as possible. We are also glad to help you over the phone with scheduling, insurance questions, or anything else you would normally handle on the site.
